The ruling party in Turkey held a meeting in the metaverse, an event which was unique and historical for the country as the authorities talked about the future of cryptocurrencies and Turkey’s position in it.

The meeting took place in the metaverse and was hosted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). As per the report, the TBMM group deputy chairmen Mahir Ünal and Mustafa Elitaş along with the vice president of Ak Party, Ömer İleri joined the meeting. İleri is responsible for information and communication technologies in the nation.The report revealed that Elitaş joined the meeting from the parliament building while Ünal and İleri joined from the headquarters of the Ak Party (AKP). The metaverse meeting was entirely focused on regulating cryptocurrencies and Ünal made a statement, saying:
"Of course, as a result of this digital transformation, serious regulations need to be made in this area, both in terms of finance and in terms of law. We also evaluated these at the meeting. Today we talked about the legal regulation to be made, especially about crypto assets."
