Bakkt and Ledger X seem to be in a race against each other to see who can be the first to launch their Bitcoin Futures exchange. Whilst the relatively new Futures exchange FTX launch their “Shitcoin” Fund, enabling traders to short a basket of 58 “Shitcoins”. Coinbase also announced that they will be managing Grayscale’s digital assets via Coinbase Custody.
Major Figures Discuss Libra
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse wrote an open letter to Congress, following their recent hearings with Facebook regarding their Libra stablecoin. Urging them not to “paint us with a broad brush”. Meanwhile, Huawei’s Chief Executive Ren Zhengfei spoke about the importance for China to create its own state-backed rival to Libra.
Japanese platform SBIVC finally went live after months of delays. Recently announced “strategic partner” MoneyGram confirmed their use of Ripple’s xRapid product increasing the noted TPS.
