Samsung Blockchain Wallet
Last year, Samsung added a blockchain wallet to its smartphones. Since then, it seemed that Samsung was setting a new tone in the industry, as many competitors were starting to add blockchain support on their devices.
They were one of the first global smartphone manufacturers to integrate a blockchain wallet into their devices. The Samsung blockchain wallet allows users to hold collectible tokens as well as cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ether right in their phone in a simple and secure manner.
Samsung also struck a partnership with Gemini, the US-based cryptocurrency exchange founded by the Winklevoss twins, to integrate the exchange inside of the Samsung Blockchain wallet to allow users to buy, sell and trade crypto-assets with ease.
In a very recent announcement, Decentraland stated that they have teamed up with the Samsung Blockchain team to accelerate adoption of the NFT (non-fungible tokens) space. These types of tokens can represent unique assets/collectibles that are not interchangeable within their own kind such as CryptoKitties for example.
MANA and LAND
The wallet will add support to both MANA and LAND, the former being burned to generate LAND which represents unique land acquisitions in the virtual decentraland world. This is a new step towards a shift to full digitizations of assets where individuals can hold full indisputable ownership inside of their phones.
