Floki Inu sponsored Italian team Napoli fought another Italian team backed by the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange, Lazio. This “crypto football” match took place at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples. The two teams had logos of their sponsors stamped on their respective jerseys.
Floki Inu backed team wins
Floki Inu, a meme cryptocurrency that the dog of Elon Musk inspired, is known for its distinct advertisement campaigns. As a part of a sponsorship deal with Napoli, the logo of the token was printed on the jerseys of the team.
The match that took place at the third biggest stadium in Italy put the meme coin in a great spotlight together with Binance.
The outcome of the match was a blow to the Binance-backed team as they lost 0-4. Floki Inu’s team dominated the football match overall, scoring four goals, not giving Lazio any space for breathing.
This match marked one of the first heavily crypto advertised matches globally, bringing Floki and Binance on an international stage.
Meme coin marketing
Floki Inu is known for its extravagant marketing scheme in the UK, where people witnessed the logo of the cryptocurrency displayed across buses and boards. The ads wrote, “missed DOGE? Get FLOKI.” Most of the buses and boards were displaying ads on the meme coin, which also led to a price surge.
This marketing strategy came under the eyes of the United Kingdom Advertisement Standards Authority who is currently investigating the adverts displayed across the UK.
On the other hand, the token has also partnered with the most followed football team in India, the Kerala Blasters FC. The sleeves of the jersey of the team will feature the logo of the dog token for the upcoming Indian Super League. The deal also includes displaying FLOKI logos via LED in home matches.
