The nonfungible token (NFT) adoption has been growing in recent months as more artists and celebrities join the market. Popular rapper Eminem is the latest celebrity to launch his NFTs and is looking to sell three of them.
Eminem to launch three NFTs
Rapper Eminem has announced that he has partnered with Nifty Gateway to launch his first set of NFTs. He dropped the first NFT at Shady Con, explaining how the sale of the art pieces would work.
He published the information on his official website. Eminem stated that “There will be 1 NFT in the drop that is limited to a single unit. This is a very exclusive 1 of 1 – meaning that only one person can ever own it. To purchase this NFT, you will need to participate in the auction, which will run for 24 hours. Any bids placed in the last 5 minutes will extend the auction an additional 5 minutes. The highest bidder will win the auction for the 1 of 1 NFT.”
Eminem added that the NFT comes with physical components comprising of SSLP20 Film Strip Shadow Box signed by Eminem, EMINEM X CARHARTT JORDAN 4’s, and a very RARE vinyl print of Eminem’s “Infinite” album signed by the artist.
Only those who have bought an NFT on the Nifty Gateway platform can purchase any of the pieces. Eminem commented on this latest development, revealing that he was an avid collector of all things, including baseball cards, toys, and rap albums while growing up.
“Not much has changed for me as an adult…I’ve attempted to re-create some of those collections from that time in my life, and I know I’m not alone. I wanted to give this drop the same vibe of, ‘Oh, man, I gotta get just that one or maybe even the whole set!’ It’s been a lot of fun coming up with ideas from my own collecting passion,” he added.
NFTs gaining significant adoption in the entertainment world
Nonfungible tokens have gained massive adoption from artists, musicians, and movie stars in recent months. So far, musicians such as The Weeknd, Snoop Dogg and Soulja Boy have all released and sold NFTs in recent weeks.
With the rising demand for NFTs, more celebrities could join the market over the coming months and years.
