Dapper Labs has partnered with the Spanish football league hours after raising $250 million.

Dapper Labs partner with LaLiga

NFT startup Dapper Labs announced yesterday that it has partnered with the Spanish top-flight football league. The partnership will allow them to develop non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for LaLiga alongside other ventures.

In a press release, Dapper Labs said, “Dapper Labs and LaLiga, today announced a partnership to introduce Official Football NFT Collectible Highlights at scale. Created by the team behind NBA Top Shot, the new experience will give fans the opportunity to collect and own some of the most talked-about contemporary and iconic in-game Moments from their favorite teams from over 10 seasons of play.”

They will create NFTs featuring football teams including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, Villarreal CF, Valencia CF, Real Betis, Athletic Club, Real Sociedad, RCD Mallorca and many others. The report said the new experience will be available to fans on Flow blockchain starting June 2022.

Dapper Labs is popular for making the NBA Top Shot for the basketball league in the United States.

Dapper Labs raises $250 million from investors

The NFT startup announced that it had raised $250 million from investors led by Coatue and a16z. The company didn’t reveal how much it is currently valued following this fundraiser. In a separate press release, the company said, “Dapper Labs, Inc., the company behind NBA Top Shot and the Flow blockchain, today announced US$250M in new funding. Led by Coatue, the new round brings together existing investors a16z, GV (formerly Google Ventures) and Version One Ventures with new investors including BOND and GIC.”

Dapper Labs said it would use the new capital to continue to scale and further brand-driven sports, entertainment, and music-based products coming online and being deployed on its Flow blockchain.
