Consensus 2019 – what is it and why is it important?

It’s that time of year again. The annual gathering of the cryptocurrency and blockchain technology world at CoinDesk’s Consensus event. The 3-day event is an opportunity for companies to showcase their products, in addition to speculation regarding the future spiralling to new levels. Many have pinpointed the event as a reason behind Bitcoin’s recent rally, in addition to it being the perfect platform to continue on its way back to the previous highs.

With an array of prominent figures scheduled to speak including FedEx’s Fred Smith, Fidelity’s Abigail Johnson, Twitter’s Jack Dorsey and Chairman of the US Securities Exchange Commission, Jay Clayton. All eyes within the crypto will be on New York this week, with potentially significant announcements coming out of the event.

The 5th edition of Consensus will have over 8,000 attendees and feature over 125 speakers; being one of the prime networking events within the crypto space. We can expect some exciting fundamental announcements, with many projects keen to showcase what they have already created, and a glimpse into what the future may hold. With many key figures in the space attending, it is the perfect opportunity for those to come together and address current issues present within blockchain and crypto. More importantly, it is the perfect opportunity for these figures to address them and set out the next stage of the digital asset journey.
