Coinbase announced yesterday via their blog that they have extended support for their Visa debit card to an extra 10 countries, making the total number now 29. Users in Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Poland, Romania, and Sweden will now be able to spend their crypto in “millions of locations worldwide”. Coinbase also confirmed that their debit card now also supports an additional 5 tokens.
To add to the existing list of BTC, ETH, LTC and BCH, the new 5 assets are XRP, XLM, BAT, ZRX and REP. The most significant addition to the list obviously being Ripple’s XRP token.
Users simply need to ensure there are funds available via the mobile app and can use the card to spend their crypto wherever Visa is accepted. However, the fees associated with crypto purchases will be dependent on the country where it is being used. Coinbase have also released a new “monthly” statements feature which helps users stay on top of their crypto spending.
