Ben Mezrich is a New York Times bestselling author. He wrote “The Accidental Billionaires” and “Bringing Down the House”. His last book covered the story of Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss and is titled “Bitcoin Billionaires”.
The Winklevoss twins were portrayed in “The Social Network” movie, based on a Mezrich book, as two spoiled Harvard students who believed their classmate, Mark Zuckerberg, stole their idea for Facebook. In 2012, someone pitched them Bitcoin in Ibiza, where they decided to buy 1% of the total supply (i.e. 210,000 BTC), and hence “The Bitcoin Billionaires”.
As the author’s books are very reputable and his implementation is a work of art, he has joined the writers’ room of Showtimes’ hit series “Billions”. The show, starring Damian Lewis, tells the story of the billionaire hedge fund manager, Bobby Axelrod.
The main problematic the show is Axelrod’s confrontations with the United States government for insider trading. Although cryptocurrencies are not the main topic, they have been mentioned. The main character was seen handing a Ledger Nano S containing $1 million to his employee for a job well done.

Mezrich will surely add a fresh perspective, especially with his deep research into the cryptocurrency world. Moreover, with Zuckerberg’s recent involvement in cryptocurrencies and blockchain with project Libra, the enemies might have to sit at the same table once again as they all become prominent figures in the cryptocurrency industry.
